Death and Legacy - Only Bravery Matters

Temenggong Datuk Kanang anak Langkau, was a Malaysian hero from the Iban Dayak community in Sarawak. He was in the Royal Ranger Regiment and Regimental Sergeant Major of 8 Renjer (8th Rangers) of the Malaysian Army.

In 1980 (if not forgotten) Kanang anak Langkau and his platoon were tasked together to seek and destroy the group of communists. After more than a week tracking, they managed to track the location of the enemies. His bravery was shown during several rounds of the battle, when he shouts the legendary battle cry;

Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban!
(in Iban language "As long as I live, I shall fight!") which is also the Royal Ranger Regiment motto.

On 3 January 2013, after complaining of chest pains, he collapsed while watching television at home. He was pronounced dead at the age of 68.

In Malaysian history, i guess he is the man out only a few number of people ever conferred the "Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa" and "Pingat Gagah Berani" whilst still alive.

Do we still have a HERO like this in our nation?

Think.............!
